Chronology of cameras Eho Altissa

The term "Eho-Box" is the generic name for a series of metal boxes manufactured during the 1930s. There is only one model made of bakelite, the 110E.

The only way to distinguish them is by a reference number, but since this number is not always present, precise identification can sometimes be challenging. Visible differences in these cameras can range from significant ones like format variations to minor ones related to aesthetics. The quality of the materials used in their construction is generally mediocre, with the metal often showing signs of oxidation, and they are typically covered with decorative fabric.
There are also rare variants in different colors. Some models feature a lens signed by Rodenstock, while others have an original viewfinder.

This box was manufactured by the German firm Altissa Werk, in Dresden.

It uses film 120, 8 exposures 6x9 cm.
Lens meniscus, focal distance approximately 105 mm, fixes diaphragm F: 16, 1 speed instantaneous and pose B (marked “T” on the lever).

Characteristics:

- This apparatus has any brand or engraving, neither on sleeving, neither on the metal or painted parts, nor inside (from where difficulties of identification),
- to note the presence of a threading for cable release (rather rare on a box),
- but the absence of threading to fix it on a foot! …
- This model is called “oben” because the button of rolling up of film is placed in height, contrary to other alternatives where the button is placed in bottom (EHO box 150, EHO-Box 150 früh, Eho box 152…).
